This is a must have if you are going to be setting up a satellite dish of any kind! Updated with a military style compass and 6 foot of RG6 cable. Great for installers, Camping, RV, tailgating etc. Includes all that you need to quickly get your dish set up.  It comes packed in a convenient carry case.
 

SATELLITE FINDER MODEL OPERATION:

1. Unplug the receiver from the wall.
2. Remove the coax from your LNBF.
3. Connect the coax to the meter to the connection that says "TO REC".
4. Using a jumper coax connect to the side of the meter that says "TO LNB".
5. Connect the other end of the jumper coax to the LNBF.
6. Plug in and power up your receiver.
7. Adjust the signal level knob on the front of the meter so the reading is below 5 on the scale.
8. Do a rough adjustment for the azimuth and elevation of the dish to get a starting point. If you don't know the azimuth and elevation settings you can use Dishpointer to find your values. Dishpointer is free to use and no download required www.dishpointer.com.
9. With your signal level at or below 5 on the meter, start to adjust the dish very slowly while watching the meter. If the meter level goes above 5, adjust the knob on the front of the meter to make the meter read at or below 5. Repeat as needed.
10. Once you have found the satellite and have peaked it to the highest possible level, go to the receiver and confirm that you are on the right satellite.
11. If you are using a linear LNBF: After confirming the satellite is correct, adjust your LNBF by turning it in the holder first right and then to the left watching the meter and stopping at the highest point in signal.
12. Power down the receiver by unplugging the power cord.
13. Remove the meter and re-connect the coax from the receiver to the LNBF.
14. You are now ready to power up your receiver.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

SF99:  You will notice indicator lights for verifiying that your receiver is set to Horizontal or Vertical polarity and if 22KHz tone is on or off.
• Green H/V light indicates Vertical Polarity.
• Red H/V light indicates Horizontal Polarity.
• Red 22KHz light indicates 22KHz is ON.
• When aligning a C-band dish do not use your meter in front of the dish to avoid full scale readings.
• When connecting to a LNBF with gain higher than 65dB, insert a 5dB attenuator between the meter and the LNBF. If a attenuator is not available you may use a long coax (60 feet or more) between the meter and the LNBF.
• If the meter needle is jumping the sensitivity is too high. Adjust the S.A. level on the back of the meter by punching through the label where marked. Be very careful not to damage the adjustment by turning it too far or too hard
